Vídeos musicales

Por último hoy, me gustaría añadir una pieza musical que me trae de cabeza por lo que me gusta desde que la descubrí. Como ya dije el día que me presenté en clase, soy una apasionada de la música electrónica, tan apasionada que creo que llego a rozar el fanatismo.
Debido a que la música electrónica está tan presente en mi vida, creo que es imposible obviarlo de cara a la creación de cualquier pieza audiovisual. Y actualmente estoy aprendiendo sobre sonido y el funcionamiento de programas como Reaper y Ableton, el aprendizaje va lento, puesto que mis conocimientos eran nulos y empiezo desde cero. Pero espero poder utilizarlos pronto. Mi pretensión no es hacer música, puesto que no tengo ni idea de cómo crearla, sino poder utilizar estas herramientas para crear los sonidos de mis vídeos. Presento esta pieza musical porque me encanta, y también me planteo la opción de hacer un vídeo musical como trabajo final…

A continuación copio y pego aquí lo que Max Cooper explica literalmente sobre este tema, y después un enlace a YouTube donde se puede escuchar.

"I wrote these two remixes as a pair, starting only with two audio files, one orchestral part of all the strings, piano etc, and one vocal part of David McAlmont singing. It wasn't easy to tame the parts into an electronic format that I was happy with, so I opted to cut everything up into tiny segments and reconstruct my own track which ended up really different from the original - my "Deconstruction" mix. Then I was faced with the problem of exactly that, that the remix sounded nothing like the original, so I then tried to reconstruct back to the original from the parts I had made - my "Reconstruction" mix. It was an interesting production exercise I guess, not an easy remix job, but hopefully it yielded something interesting.
And Nick Cobby has amazed me with his video for the tracks, it's really amazing - He invited people to be 3d mapped at his studio, and then cut there digitised face footage perfectly to the segments of audio I used to create the music - you gotta watch it!!"


Como podéis leer, Max Cooper habla de dos remixes. El primero "Deconstruction", mi preferido, y el segundo "Reconstruction". Es sobre este segundo remix "Reconstruction", sobre el que Max habla también del vídeo que un tal Nick Cobby hizo para él. A continuación dicho vídeo, donde también se puede escuchar "Reconstruction". Me parece muy interesante la solución de Nick Cobby. Y a continuación del vídeo copio y pego también lo que Nick dice sobre la creación del vídeo.

For the video, animator and director Nick Cobby wanted to add a human element to his visuals for the first time, asking Max Cooper fans to come down to his London studio to be filmed.
"After listening to the track, I was aware of how important the vocal element is in the track, which added an emotional and human element alongside Max's sonic soundscapes. I knew that i wanted to include real people for the first time, but i wanted to change their appearance; making them something more animated and kinetic, and therefore bring them into Max's world."
Each participant was filmed individually, concentrating on their facial expressions and head movements. Incorporating Kinect camera technology, depth data captured by the Kinect was used to create 3d point data of the individuals filmed. This 3d map was then reconstructed to re-create the participants, utilising code and creative technology to create a generative outcome".

Y por último en esta entrada musical de mi blog, presento otro vídeo de Nick Cobby hizo también para Max Cooper... Este vídeo me resulta súper interesante por como el artista ha llevado al terreno visual el propio sonido del tema.
